I can see why reviewers say it’s a bit understeery, half of the engine hangs past the centre of the wheels!
Plus.... I see a fair bit of space there! Could it fit a v8?
If you remove the tubing for the turbos, I see space for Kia’s v8 engine with 420hp.
This might become an LS swap favourite once depreciation kicks in!

Wait so you’ve had the car 24 hours and are already planning an engine swap? :)
Too lazy to look it up but the TTV6 probably has as much or more torque as that V8.

Looks like repairs will be a pita.

Not wanting to change, just warning the internet.

I can fit my whole arm infront and halfway down at back.
Turbo tubes are at easy reach (although I think that any issues involving more than those tubes will require the engine be hoisted

Haha. Only kidding of course.
What’s your take? Does it feel understeery to you? It’s on my list of possible next cars this spring so I’m curious.
Also, a V8 swap would move even more weight in front of the front wheels so probably not good for handling.

Just add subs and amps till you’re back at 50/50.

I once tried changing coil packs on an older Kia v6 and it meant removing the upper intake plenum along with miles of vacuum hose. I doubt the motors got less complicated, though its surprising to here there’s work space

I’m still breaking it in!
It feels, in every way, better than my wk2.
I’m not gonna lie thought, I did try sport plus out for a bit and the car most definitely feels neutral to oversteery. It likes to pull its ass out in sport plus mode*. It also likes spinning tyres in first and second gear in stoplights.
I am not going to engage sport or sport plus mode again unless I’m in a track and after a few driver saftey courses.
*: I’ve only driven it below 120km/h ( I took it out on the highway)

Oh, yeah, at least it’s not a hot vee!
Was it that way it’d be even worse!

It goes without saying with an LS swap

I’ll tell you what. I once had the pleasure of driving a 993 Porsche turbo, this engine pulls with the same amount of lag and it scavenged for traction (in sport plus mode) in a similar manner, just a little bit of skip go skip skip go!
I most note that I didn’t cross 5000 rpm in either car, you see, that Porsche was fresh from service.

Well that sounds like a lot of fun!
Although yeah you want to take it easy until you learn the car well
